Laine has led the food policy teams for both Denver and Washington D.C. to create more equitable food local systems and founded the DC Food Policy Council. She has served on the board of the American Planning Association’s Food Division and the National Capitol Area Chapters. She studied environmental studies and city planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Pennsylvania. She has supported community in transformational food systems change through values-aligned leadership, equitable engagement, infrastructure improvement, sustainable funding, and a commitment to innovative policy.
